Court of Appeals Considering Permanent Partial Disability Issue

Oregon Workers' Compensation  provides for a benefit designed to compensate injured workers for a permanent loss of earning capacity.  We call it permanent partial disability, or "PPD."  Insurance carriers have been discounting these awards, claiming that they are allowed to reduce the award for impairment due to other causes.  However, we feel the statute says differently.

This week we argued our second case in Salem at the Oregon Court of Appeals.  Another similar case was also argued this week.  If we prevail, many injured workers will receive all of the benefit that they deserve.  Stay tuned.
