Oregon Construcion Worker Killed at VA Rehabilitation Center

Posted on Jan 28, 2014

News outlets are reporting that a White City, Oregon man died earlier this week while working on a construction project at the VA Rehabilitation facility and White City, Oregon.

The man's name is still being withheld, but initial reports indicate that the worker was pinned to a wall by a dump truck. This incident occurred on a federally owned property, and as such, it would normally be investigated by the federal OSHA, but because it involved a contractor on the project, the Oregon OSHA is investigating the incident.

Oregon OSHA will try to determine how the accident occurred, and whether OSHA regulations were violated. Investigation involves inspection of the equipment, witness statements, and review of other physical evidence.

Our sympathies go out to the family.
