Man Injured After Washington Logging Accident

Posted on Apr 28, 2013

From our Oregon personal injury law firm that helps many loggers after accidents, we were saddened to hear of a Washington man who was badly hurt after a logging accident in Snohomish County.

The accident happened on the Pilchuck Tree Farm located near Stanwood, Washington. The logger reportedly became trapped under a log at the tree farm. The logging was on rugged terrain, much like what Oregon loggers see in the Oregon Coast Range. Because the terrain was so rugged, ambulances were unable to reach the injured man. A helicopter called “SnoHawk” from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Department had to be called to rush the injured logger to the hospital.

The rescue effort took approximately two hours. Medics had to be lowered to the ground to assist the injured logger. Then, he was hoisted into the helicopter and flown to the nearby Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett.

The 25-year old was said to have suffered from a broken leg. His current condition remains unknown. Details of how the logging accident happened are under investigation and not being released to the public. Authorities have said that they plan to release more details about the logging accident once they have been determined and confirmed.

The Di Bartolomeo Law Office, P.C. is located in Astoria, Oregon, an area rich with loggers and a strong logging community. Our hearts go out to the victim and we hope that he is able to recover quickly and fully from his serious injuries.
