The Insurance Division for Oregon regulates the insurance industry in Oregon. If you are having any problems with a claim of whatever type, you can file a complaint with the State of Oregon

The Workers’ Compensation Division has an Ombudsman’s Office, which advocates for injured workers. The term “Ombudsman” is a Swedish term, and refers to a public official charged with representing the interests of the public by investigating and addressing complaints reported by individual citizens. The Oregon Workers’ Compensation Ombudsman’s office can answer questions, and provide tips on your workers compensation claim.

The Social Security Administration has a web site as well. It is difficult to navigate, but will allow you to file disability claims, and appeals, on line. There are several links to rules, and other Social Security programs.
The Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries Civil Rights Division. This Oregon agency investigates employee civil rights complaints. All Oregon workers have a right to report for jury duty, testify in a workers’ compensation hearing, and invoke the Oregon workers’ compensation system without retaliation from the employer. If you feel your employer violated any of these rights, you should contact “BOLI” to discuss filing a formal complaint.

The Oregon Health Plan, Family Health Insurance Assistance Program. This Oregon Department of Human Services administers the Oregon Health Plan, and the Family Health Insurance Assistance Program, also known as FHIAP. If you or your family is not insured, please review this site to see if you qualify for health insurance premium assistance, or coverage from the Oregon Health Plan.

The US Consumer Products Safety Commission. This is a good reference if you are concerned about a dangerous product, especially your children’s toys.

The Oregon Attorney General’s Office investigates general consumer fraud complaints, and alerts Oregonians of fraudulent schemes.
