New Oregon Auto Insurance Protections Cannot Happen Fast Enough

I met with a nice young couple this past week who were unfortunately involved in a multi car collision, and are facing all kinds of issues with the claim.  This case shows how Oregon's new insurance laws can make such a difference in certain cases.

There are several insurance policies at play in this case.  Under the old law, and for any insurance polices written last year, recovery is limited.  However, with the new law, an injured motorist has more access to protections in his or her own policy, and that can go a long way with today's health care costs, and the prospect of being out of work for an extended time.

So far, it looks like the insurance carriers are not automatically updating their policies with these new protections, but are waiting for the policy renewal date to incorporate the changes.

Maybe its time to shop around.
